 Founder and General Director of Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel. Received an L.L.B. in Law and a B.A. in Philosophy from Tel Aviv University in 1991, and an L.L.M. in Law from American University, Washington College of Law (USA) in 1996. Worked as a staff attorney with the Association for Civil Rights in Israel for four years. Received the American University’s Peter Cicchino Award for Outstanding Advocacy in the Public Interest in 2000. Adjunct Lecturer, Faculty of Law, Haifa University (1998-2000), Tel Aviv University (1999-present) and Hebrew University (2000-present). Has published articles on citizenship, the legal status of the Arab minority, and constitutionalism in academic law reviews. Yale University World Fellow (2005-2006).
